For our Start-Up Draft, we will hold 35 rounds in a serpentine format. The draft order will be randomly chosen prior to the draft and will be live to ensure there is no cheating on our end.
Each GM will have 12 hours to make their selection, but the clock may be adjusted based on the flow of the draft or if there is a time crunch depending on how long this does go on.
Any player who is a UFA in real life is not allowed to be drafted. Those players, along with any players who go undrafted, will be available to be signed 24 hours after the completion of the draft.
For contracts, we will be using players' real life contracts. All contracts are sourced from spotrac.com and will be put into spreadsheet as the base salaries shown on the site.
ALL 5th year team options will be double of the player's 4th year salary. NFL 5th year options are quite large and would have huge affect on team cap situations. Players who have already had their options accepted (Ex: Mariota/Winston) will also be having their 4th year doubled.
If a pick OTC is traded, the new owner of the pick will have 1/2 of the draft clock of the previous owner. (Ex: If the clock is 12 hours and the OTC pick is traded, the new owner of the pick will have 6 hours to draft/trade. If it is traded a 2nd time, that owner will have 3 hours to make a move and so on.)
Some contracts are a bit outrageous for our salary cap so we will scale back larger contracts using the following system:
Contract Scale:
Any player making between $10,000,001 - $15,000,000 will have their contract scaled back to $10,000,000
Any player making between $15,000,001 - $20,000,000 will have their contract scaled back to $12,500,000
Any player making over $20,000,000 will have their contract scaled back to $15,000,000
