1. Los Angeles Rams:I really only have to say two words to justify this ranking: Le’Veon Bell. Best running back in the league. While he might not be in Pittsburgh next year I see them riding him into the ground this year in the running and passing game. This team pairs Bell with Odell Beckham who has the talent to end the year as the #1 WR. Unlike some teams in our league this one has the QB spot shored up with Baker Mayfield (who I would have taken #1 overall if I was the Browns too). Oh but what if Baker doesn’t start Week 1? No problem because the Rams have Tyrod Taylor too. Who might not light the world on fire in real life but is a good fantasy QB.
2. New England Patriots: This team looks great, especially if Jordan Reed can stay healthy. That’s a big IF and the only reason this team isn’t in the number one spot. I love this teams RBs with Kareem Hunt and Joe Mixon. The last game we saw Mixon in action he had 18 carries at 5.3 YPC, not to mention what he brings to the passing game. I think he is in for a breakout season this year. Of course Kareem Hunt might lose his title as Leading Rusher in the League but he is still a work horse back and should be used even more while Mahomes goes through his growing pains. Oh and did I mention this team just added Antonio Brown..?
3. Baltimore Ravens: Smart move picking up Joe Flacco after drafting Lamar Jackson who doesn’t look even close to ready yet. Love the trade that this team made for Khalil Mack who obviously is a monster on the field. Because where this team is really going to make its mark is on the IDP side of things when their best offensive player by far is Zach Ertz. This shouldn’t be a problem with Kevin Byard, Danny Trevathan, and Deone Bucannon just to name a few. While the IDP players on this team might not be catchy names they will rack up points consistently.
4. Denver Broncos:Maybe I’m the only one who watches Seahawks preseason games but Phillip Rivers looks GOOD. And with his BFF (heart emoji) Keenan Allen at 100% this should be a good year for him. While I like TY Hilton I’d say its pretty likely that he will be as good as Andrew Luck is this year. And how good will that be? Only Jim Irsay knows (or doesn’t). This team boasts a really good IDP group led by Aaron Donald himself. Trey Flowers and Pierre-Paul should “hand” out a lot of points this year as well… oh wait hand.. there’s something connecting Jason Pierre-Paul and the word “hand”… just can’t remember.. oh well!
5. San Fransisco 49ers: One could make an argument that this team should be higher but.. while it does have some great players it isn’t a very well rounded roster. Don’t get me wrong I absolutely love this team. I mean imagine what that bad man himself Aaron Rodgers could do if Julio Jones and Evan Engram were on his team! This team most weeks will be great and could crush the competition any given week. But I also believe it is possible this team will lose some games when their stars don’t absolutely ball out. On that note can you imagine a defensive line with JJ Watt and Calais Campbell right next to each other? Wow.
6. Indianapolis Colts: I love the Drew Brees/Alvin Kamara pairing on this team! What if that were to happen in real life?! And what if Mark Ingram were to be suspended for the first part of the season?! I mean that would really put this team over the top. OH…WAIT… that all did happen in real life. And guess who the Saints (real life) play in the first four weeks. The Bucs, the Browns, the Falcons, and the Giants. Brees and Kamara should have a buffet of fantasy points in those weeks.
7. New York Jets: This team doesn’t have any great offensive pieces but they do have a great IDP lineup starting with Chandler Jones who really is a nobody… oh wait no he is only the reigning sack leader of the NFL with 17 sacks. He eats QBs like one of the dragons of Daenerys Targaryen would. Telvin Smith is an absolute baller and that Jags defense is incredible. Then this team has it’s own Legion of Boom with Keanu Neal and John Johnson III. I also see Derek Carr and Dalvin Cook really breaking out this year.
8. Atlanta Falcons:While Larry Fitzgerald might be in his last year in the NFL it should be a good one. He should be peppered with targets no matter who the quarterback is. We all know what Leonard Fournette is as well, a great running back with a great quarterback. I feel pretty safe in saying that Blake Bortles will end up with a better career than Tom Brady. Okay okay so I’m laughing hysterically while writing this but Blake the Snake being an awful QB actually bodes well for Fournette as the offense should run through him. This IDP group is also anchored by Lavonte David and Harrison Smith who are both fantasy studs.
9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Now that the draft is finally over we can all get along! Unless the Bucs GM has anything to say about it! Haha. This team has a SCARY LB corps featuring Deion Jones, Blake Martinez, and soon to be rookie sensation Roquan Smith. I also really love the WR group on this team with pep-talk King Jarvis Landry, Demaryius Thomas, and Allen Hurns (who happens to literally be Dak Prescott’s only target). While this team doesn’t have any offensive studs. It is deep and well-rounded. Look out.
10. New York Giants:Love the Stafford/David Johnson combo on this team. Johnson should come back with a vengeance this year. He himself has said that he thinks he will get over 1,000 yards both rushing and receiving (#preseasontalk). Also with Aaron Jones suspended Jamaal Williams could take over RB duties in Green Bay, or Ty Montgomery could. Nobody knows. The only hole in this team is in IDP. Especially at LB in my opinion but we will see if great offense can overcome that!
11. Arizona Cardinals:How does the saying go? The best offense is a good defense? Well, its something like that. Anyway, after trading away AB that is the theme of this team. This defense has some really great players such as Zach Brown, Kwon Alexander, and Karl Joseph. This offense could be better if Davante Adams and Derrick Henry play up to their potential. And if Josh Rosen can beat out Sam Bradford for the starting gig in this team will be in really good shape. Rosen might be an arrogant human being but I believe he will be a great NFL quarterback.
12. Detroit Lions:This team will go as Andrew Luck goes. If he is the QB we remember then this team could light it up. Oh yeah and then there’s Ezekiel Elliot. He could end the year as the #1 RB. Even after missing time last year he still came 13 yards away from eclipsing 1,000. The offense should all run through him in Dallas with the passing game looking abysmal. There’s also room for upside here with DJ Moore and Antonio Calaway who could both have great years.
13. Kansas City Chiefs:Kirk Cousins should be really great this year on a great team. As long as all the money he’s now carrying around doesn’t weigh him down. I imagine its pretty hard to sling a football with a money bag over your shoulder. But to each his own. Also there’s this guy called Saquon Barkley… not really sure who that is but I’m thinking about challenging him to a bench press competition. Barkley should take the league by storm and score fantasy points by the droves. Also really love the upside of Courtland Sutton and Anthony Miller, not to mention Jay Ajayi who people are just throwing in the dumpster this year. Hot take: Jay Ajayi is good and the Eagles are a really good team.
14. Miami Dolphins:The two most important players on the Carolina Panthers are also the most important players on this fantasy team in Cam Newton and Luke Kuechly. I really think the Panthers offense is gonna click this year with DJ Moore and CMC puttin in work. Especially in the passing game. I also think we might all be sleeping on Jordan Howard who is super talented and should be the focal point of an improved offense in Chicago. This roster also has some upside through James Washington and on the IDP side Bradley Chubb and Derwin James who should both start and be good this year.
15. Tennessee Titans:Preseason Hype here but Sam Darnold is looking like he might win the starting job outright and while the Jets aren’t great I believe Darnold is the best chance they have. It doesn’t matter either way because Sam Bradford should start for the Cardinals until… “ouch someone bruised my leg! I can’t go on”. In the Small Council Chambers we’ve got Hand of the King Bobby Wagner, Master of War DeAndre Lannister-Hopkins, Master of Coin Demarcus Lawrence (or maybe I should call him Tyrell with how much money he’s about to make), and Grand Maester Landon Collins (I guess we will see if he can cure that Giants defense)
16. Jacksonville Jaguars: The only really great player on this team is Todd Gurley. He’s a beast, obviously. But behind him are a bunch of nobodies. The WR group shows promise but there’s not really a lot of proven production here. There is room for growth though with Tyler Lockett looking for a bigger role as well as Kenny Golladay. Christian Kirk looks like he will end up being the #2 in AZ. The rest of this roster is deep with good but not yet great players like Vic Beasley, Justin Evans, and Takk “Tank” McKinley.
17. Oakland Raiders:Everybody wants to crown Jimmy Graham as the Second Coming of Jermichael Finley in GB. I’m not so sure. But if he can replicate his touchdowns from last year then I guess I wont be surprised. I especially love Michael Thomas who is a bonafide star and Joey Bosa who could end up being the sack leader this year. Where this roster has gaping holes is at QB and RB. Jameis Winston is suspended and well… who knows how long he will last in TB if he keeps making stupid mistakes. Meanwhile Tevin Coleman is the best RB on this team which is not a good sign. While he could pay off in the future if he were ever to become a starter, he is not the feature back now and it doesn’t look like this is going to change anytime soon.
18. Houston Texans:Hows this for a trio? Roethlisburger, Keenan Allen, and AJ Green. Let that sink in for a little bit. Oh and on the IDP side there’s two super talented DE in Yannick Ngakoue (anybody wanna bet on how many times he gets flagged for sack dances?) and Dante Fowler. Who if they both play up to their potential should be IDP studs. The problem on this team is definitely RB. If the Texans can fix this gaping hole then they will be in a much better spot.
19. Washington Redskins:I really love the offense on this team which could be great if AJ McCarron stays healthy and wins the starting job in Buffalo. The WR group has some great talent with Adam Thielen and Corey Davis who I both love this year. The RB group is akin to Tyrion Lannister who is extremely talented and always overlooked. Devonta and Alex Collins I believe will both be great this year and have as many carries as the Lannisters have gold between them… oh wait maybe that’s a bad example.
20. Carolina Panthers:What does Eli Manning have left in the tank? It might not matter with all the weapons he has at his disposal. Odell, Barkley, and Evan Engram are all great players and should help Manning rack up fantasy points. While others might not I really do believe in CMC this year, I don’t think CJ Anderson poses any threat even at the goal line. This WR group is looking really good especially if Robby Anderson can click with Darnold and manage to not get suspended. Alshon Jeffrey and Cooper Kupp are also really nice pieces but they will only be as good as their respective offenses are.
21. Los Angeles Chargers:This team is deep with good players but not really any standout stars. Jared Goff is talented but really is a system QB and not the focal point of the offense. Other players on this roster could really breakout this year though such as Lamar Miller, who when Deshaun was ballin out was an RB1. David Njoku and Myles Garrett are both breakout candidates this year as well on an improved Browns team that has literally nowhere else to go but up. The biggest problem here is whether Earl Thomas will show up this year. This stalemate with the Hawks is getting pretty old and it seems that Earl is willing to hold out even into the season to get what he wants.
22. Dallas Cowboys:I really like this team, it has tremendous upside with Deshaun Watson at the helm. Isn’t it funny to think that just a year ago people were doubting if Deshaun could translate his talents to the next level? He tabled that discussion pretty quick. We don’t know exactly how Tyreek the Freak is gonna do with Mahomes in charge but he’s so talented I don’t think it will matter. I also really love this teams safety group with the Honey Badger himself and two really good young players in Minkah Fitzpatrick and Jabrill Peppers.
23. New Orleans Saints:Will Matt Ryan ever repeat his MVP season? Well for this teams sake I hope so. The Seniors Center couldn’t have come up with a better RB group than this one with Beast Mode (over/under on 1 bag of Skittles consumed per game?) and Lesean McCoy (how does he not know what is going on at his own house by the way). I do believe though that Amari Cooper will have a great year as the #1 in Oakland. He has to really or might be labeled as a bust who never fully reached his potential.
24. Philadelphia Eagles:Love Carson Wentz on this team. While Nick Foles is the Super Bowl MVP he poses no threat to the future MVP of the league (in my opinion). Will Rob Kelley benefit from Guice going down? Doesn’t look like that as AP might take a stranglehold on the carries in D.C. Did AP collude with Russia to have Guice injured and take the RB job for himself? Hmm guess we will never know.
25. Cleveland Browns:If this were a ranking on most handsome teams then this would top all of them with Gronk and Jimmy G (or at least so my sisters tell me). Anyway, after those two players Kenyan Drake and Brandin Cooks are nice pieces even if they aren’t stars and should help this team a lot. What will Nick Chubb do this year on the real Cleveland Browns? Not really sure but I’m not banking on a lot of fantasy points with Carlos Hyde and Duke Johnson there as well. IDP group on this roster leaves quite a bit to be desired with their best player being Jamal Adams.
26. Minnesota Vikings:This RB group is hard to put a label on with Mark Ingram being suspended the first four weeks, Marlon Mack being a wild card, and Samaje Perine becomes more doubtful to earn carries in Washington by the day. And then there’s Dak Prescott… I think he’s a good QB but make no mistake this is Zeke’s offense not Dak’s. Plus who in the world is he going to throw to? Oh and Josh Gordon, when is he gonna show up?
27. Pittsburgh Steelers:I think this team has some great upside at key positions. Kalen Ballage could end up being the bell cow back in Miami. Michael Gallup, Paul Richardson, and DJ Chark are all wild cards on new teams. They could breakout or they could crash into the dust. Marcus Mariota and Melvin Gordon are a really good foundation for this team but I don’t believe it will come close to being enough this year.
28. Green Bay Packers:Is Tom Brady the GOAT? Is he not? Will he win another Super Bowl this year? Or will he finally fall off the age cliff? Either way it won’t be enough for this team this year. Rex Burkhead could be good this year if Sony Michel stays sidelined. Same with Latavius Murray if Dalvin Cook goes down again. Those are some big Ifs.
29. Seattle Seahawks:Hopefully this isn’t where the Seahawks end up in the real life power rankings! Just so everyone knows, I’m a total homer and not afraid to admit it. I love this WR group but pretty much nothing else on this team. Mike Evans, JuJu, Dante Pettis, and Dede Westbrook are a pretty good group. With Blake Bortles as the QB of this team and not a lot going on IDP-wise I don’t have a lot of faith in this team this year.
30. Cincinnati Bengals:Russell Wilson could easily end up being the #1 QB again this year because he is the Seahawks offense. Sony Michel and Doug Baldwin look good on paper but it looks like they could be hampered with injuries, at least to start the season. Von Miller is much better on the Denver Broncos than he is in fantasy football. There is upside with Davenport and Burks but they are both rookies so expectations shouldn’t be too high.
31. Chicago Bears:Mahomes has moments where he makes you think he is brilliant and then two plays later might throw a bonehead INT. This team might win games this year on the back of a huge Mahomes game but he will probably lose some because of Mahomes as well. Also I’m not completely sold on McKinnon as a work horse RB. And Stefon Diggs isn’t even the best WR on his own team. Can Laquon Treadwell and Kevin White prove they’re not complete draft busts this year? Guess we will see!
32. Buffalo Bills:Not a lot of hope for this team right now. Penny will be good in the future but he might not even start this year with the way Chris Carson looks right now. Same goes for Josh Allen who was the least ready prospect of all the QBs in this draft class. While there’s not a lot to talk about for this team this year with all the draft picks they have there should be a lot more to talk about next year!
