* Rankings Based Off 2021 Scoring *
AFC East
(1) New England Patriots
AFC North
(1) Pittsburgh Steelers
(2) Cincinnati Bengals
AFC South
(1) Tennessee Titans
AFC West
(1) Los Angeles Chargers
AFC East
(1) New England Patriots
- Overall (5), Offense (1), Defense (23)
- Massive holes on the defense, but their offense alone would keep them competitive in this division
(2) Miami Dolphins
- Overall (21), Offense (17), Defense (22)
- Lots of money off the books next offseason, expect Miami to be more competitive in 2023
(3) New York Jets
- Overall (22), Offense (18), Defense (24)
- Plenty of holes and not enough cap space to fill them all, New York has a lot of short term deals they should be selling & bad contracts they can be cutting
(4) Buffalo Bills
- Overall (26), Offense (7), Defense (30)
- $47M in cap should be enough room to make this defense competitive, no reason Buffalo can't be playing for a wild card spot in 2022
AFC North
(1) Pittsburgh Steelers
- Overall (6), Offense (4), Defense (13)
- Well-rounded offense and plenty of money / draft picks to bolster the defense before the regular season
(2) Cincinnati Bengals
- Overall (7), Offense (12), Defense (7)
- Strong enough to be a playoff team in the AFC but lots of expiring contracts may force Cincinnati to be sellers
(3) Cleveland Browns
- Overall (9), Offense (5), Defense (15)
- Should be in contention for the AFC North once again, need to add depth at safety and on the DL
(4) Baltimore Ravens
- Overall (25), Offense (28), Defense (18)
- Need significant additions on both sides of the ball, should have the cap space to add some depth in free agency
AFC South
(1) Tennessee Titans
- Overall (1), Offense (2), Defense (1)
- Top team by a wide margin with no significant losses, plenty of cap space, and three picks in the draft
(2) Houston Texans
- Overall (12), Offense (6), Defense (17)
- Defense should be improved from 2021 and a couple additions on both sides will easily push Houston into a playoff spot
(3) Indianapolis Colts
- Overall (27), Offense (32), Defense (14)
- Healthy Allen Robinson & Gus Edwards will help the offense, but will need other additions to balance out the roster
(4) Jacksonville Jaguars
- Overall (29), Offense (27), Defense (28)
- Just beginning a rebuild, should still be sellers with some of the remaining pieces on the roster
AFC West
(1) Los Angeles Chargers
- Overall (8), Offense (22), Defense (3)
- Still weak at RB but Michael Thomas will provide a boost to the offense, putting LA easily ahead in the division for the time being
(2) Denver Broncos
- Overall (14), Offense (19), Defense (10)
- WR / TE could use depth, but QB is currently holding back the Broncos offense from being in the top half of the league
(3) Las Vegas Raiders
- Overall (23), Offense (11), Defense (29)
- Offense is solid, additions on defense through the draft / free agency will put LV in the playoff race in 2022
(4) Kansas City Chiefs
- Overall (30), Offense (29), Defense (25)
- Lots of draft capital in 2022, but KC doesn't look like they'll be competitive until next season when they are able to clear out $40M
