MVP of Week 3: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (217.9 points)
Sacko of Week 3: Green Bay Packers (33.1 points) how? Just how?
1. New England Patriots (+0)
a. This group is solid and has no real weaknesses. The pairing of Antonio Brown and Mike Evans is amazing. But Evans is really boom or bust. This week he BOOMED but mark my words there will be a week where Evans puts up only two points. And that will be the week that Alex finally loses.
2. Baltimore Ravens (+0)
a. The Mack Attack is still in full force. Seriously the best part of my week is watching Jon Gruden say “oh man I wish we had a pass rich” or “its hard to find good pass rushers in this league. It’s just freaking HILARIOUS. Gio and Robert Woods should be consistent each week and Royce Freeman looks like the real deal (hey maybe don’t leave him on your bench).
3. Denver Broncos (+0)
a. James Conner is an RB1 for the forseeable future (maybe even for the whole season if bell gets traded) and Tyler Lockett will also remain the #1 in Seattle. Desean Jackson could blow up any week and so could a lot of players in this IDP group. JPP could really blow up any week, one might even say he’s like a ... firework...
4. Jacksonville Jaguars (+3)
a. Made some moves this week to shore up the LB corps adding Devon Kennard and Telvin Smith who are both studs plus Matt Milano who looks like a force for Buffalo. Todd Gurley is the king and nobody can stop him. Also loving my WR group with Golladay and Kirk (especially now that Rosen is the QB). Oh and I might have the best safety group in the league.
5. Dallas Cowboys (+3)
a. Adrian Peterson was definitely the steal of free agency this year. To be honest I didn’t even bid on him because I didn’t think he could do it. That’s what I get for doubting him, now I’m out here scrounging for another RB. Anyway, still love Tyreek Hill and this Safety group is also amazing.
6. Detroit Lions (-2)
a. This IDP group is nasty, led by Sean Lee who had 11 tackles just in the first half of the game last week. Unfortunately this defense is littered with injuries...just like Sean who didn’t even make it through the game. That’s something to keep an eye on for sure. Obviously Zeke is a beast and DJ Moore and Antonio Callaway could become consistent weapons in their offenses.
7. Houston Texans (-2)
a. This RB group still makes me throw-up a little in my mouth when I look at it... but I love the WR with AJ Green and Keenan Allen both of whom were just average this week. That wont happen every week though. There will be weeks where green and Allen both blow up.
8. New York Giants (+2)
a. Stafford finally looked like himself again this week! Beating the Patriots which I’m pretty sure everyone in this league loved except for Alex. David Johnson could pick it up with Josh Rosen at the helm, although I’ll have to see it to believe it. Also love Jordan Reed and Sterling Shepard going forward.
9. Kansas City Chiefs (-3)
a. Man that was a rough go for Captain Kirk who got severely outplayed by a rookie in his first start. He should bounce back next week against the Rams. Barkley is obviously a star and should continue to put up points each week. And I still believe in Courtland Sutton to have a breakout year.
10. Carolina Panthers (+0)
a. Holy Crap Run CMC really showed what he can do this week. I had to clean off my glasses when I saw his stat line come across the TV to make sure I was reading it right. I mean my goodness. Sucks that your highest IDP scorer just landed on IR. Oh yeah and then there’s Cooper Kupp who will be consistent each and every week.
11. Miami Dolphins (+1)
a. Cam Newton and Jordan Howard are stalwarts for fantasy football, they show up and perform every week. Well except next week, next week Cam will not be playing football but probably watching it from his house in one of his outfits that makes everybody question the definition of fashion. Derwin James is a BEAST and so are the pass rushers on this team.
12. New Orleans Saints (+4)
a. Is Matt Ryan the MVP back? I dont know I really need to see another week of greatness to believe it. Shady will be back next week and will do better in what looks like a newly revamped Bills offense. Same with Carlos Hyde who also had a change at QB this week. George Kittle will definitely take a hit with Jimmy G out. Speaking of that which pornstar do y’all think will be nursing him back to health...?
13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+7)
a. I know what you’re thinking Kevin. “How can I be so low after setting the new points record?!” Well.... lets say Calvin Ridley has just a decent week of like 10 points. We aren’t even talking about this team because they would have lost to Detroit. Obviously that’s not what happened but I’m just sayin. Anyway, kudos to you Kevin, you got the win and the points record which moved you up a lot but lets make no mistake Calvin is no Julio Jones.
14. San Francisco 49ers (-3)
a. JJ Watt is a freaking MONSTER. This offense has some serious star power with Aaron Rodgers and Julio Jones. The biggest problem is everybody staying healthy. Still Rodgers is better on one leg than most QBs are on two, except maybe Patrick Mahomes.
15. Pittsburgh Steelers (-2)
a. Justin Houston can still freakin get it done. Melvin Gordon and Adam Thielen obviously are stars. Hey I hope that Mariota works out for you cuz hot take: Blain Gabbert sucks.
16. Atlanta Falcons (-2)
a. Man rough week for Case Keenum. So did Fournette and Fitzgerald due to injuries. Oh and William Hayes tore his ACL trying to follow the new roughing the passer “rule”. Freaking stupid “rule”. Leighton Vander Esch is the real deal guys, I watched him here at Boise State and he flies all over the field and never takes a play off.
17. New York Jets (-2)
a. Hey, trade me Chris Carson. I love him. Oh and he had the highest carry total of any RB in the league last week, looks like Seattle finally made a choice. Landry is the blue collar WR of the NFL, he just gets things done week in and week out. Will Dissly probably wont turn out to be the pass catching TE though.. that first week he hit everybody by surprise but its not a surprise anymore.
18. Indianapolis Colts (+1)
a. Freakin Drew Brees. Still gettin it done. Lookin like Cam Newton jumping over the pile to get to the goal line in OT. Awesome. I was really loving Matt Breida going forward but really any player in SF is a question with Jimmy G out. Once Mixon comes back he should be a beast again.
19. Chicago Bears (-2)
a. Mahomes is the truth. He is a freaking badass. Am I overreacting by crowning him so early? Maybe, but its my power rankings so I can do whatever I want. The rest of this offense is really just a bunch of below average pieces though.
20. Los Angeles Rams (+2)
a. Good trade today for Roquan and Hurst but that won’t bump you up just yet. Ive gotta see you actually win a week first (this week doesnt count, WSH tanked and had two spots completely empty). Oh hey you might wanna put Baker Mayfield in. Tyrod SUCKS. Ive said since before the NFL draft that Baker is the #1 QB. Love his intangibles, he’s just a winner.
21. Cleveland Browns (+0)
a. Losing Jimmy G hurts bad. Jordy Nelson wont have another game like that this year. And the RB group looks less promising as each week goes by. If this team has any chance its going to be on the IDP side with Jadeveon Clowney and Terrell Suggs leading the way.
22. Arizona Cardinals (-4)
a. Love Josh Rosen for... not this year but definitely in the future. Davante Adams is a star and will be in the future. Other than that not much to see here.
23. Seattle Seahawks (+2)
a. Cmon Blake! I thought you were on your way to being a consistent fantasy QB but obviously I was wrong. Dante Pettit takes a hit. Obviously. JuJu is a beast.
24. Los Angeles Chargers (+0)
a. Jared Goff is the really good consistent QB that Blake will never be. By the way did anybody else see his cameo in Ballers? That show is hilarious. Earl Thomas is amazing. Those two INTs he had this week were just awesome. Seattle had better pay him this offseason cuz he cannot end up on the Cowboys where his career will go to crap.
25. Minnesota Vikings (+1)
a. Dak isn’t an other worldly talent to begin with but now he has literally zero passing weapons so be prepared to be disappointed in him all year. What will Josh Gordon look like in NE? The next Randy Moss or will he be cut by next month.
26. Cincinatti Bengals (+1)
a. Russell Wilson is a boss and it looks like his OC finally figured out how to work a fully functioning offense. I think Sony Michel will be the lead back in NE and should be pretty good moving forward. Doug Baldwin is coming back this week too.
27. Philadelphia Eagles (+2)
a. If your IDP group was better this team could actually be competitive. Carson Wentz is starting off a little slow but he’s still great. How does Kyle Juszczyk keep scoring points? He’s a freakin fullback!
28. Tennessee Titans (-5)
a. Darnold struggled this week but he’s a rookie, it will happen. I’m lookin for him to bounce back this week. Bobby Wagner is back to his old self. Kerryon Johnson is the best lions RB since Reggie Bush and I wish I had him...trade..?
29. Washington Redskins (-1)
a. Nothing to see here on this roster except for Corey Davis and travis Kelce who apparently are OTB. So... rebuild!
30. Buffalo Bills (+0)
a. Rashaad Penny wont be the lead back in SEA this year. Josh Allen looks awesome! I loved watching every single second of that game. And he gets his best offensive weapon in Shady McCoy back this week. Too bad you wont play him.
31. Oakland Raiders (+0)
a. Tevin Coleman and Michael Thomas were on the bench. Denzel Ward is an amazing football player. Everybody else...eh.
32. Green Bay Packers (+0)
a. 76ers of the league...that will be all.
